Website & App User Testing
What it is
Companies pay everyday people to record their screen and voice while completing specific tasks on a website or app (e.g., "Find a pair of running shoes under £50 and add them to the cart"). You provide real-time, honest feedback on usability.

Step by step
- 1
Get the right gear
You need a reliable computer, stable internet, and a decent USB microphone (even a £20 wired headset mic is vastly superior to a built-in laptop mic).
- 2
Sign up for platforms
Register on UserTesting, Userlytics, and IntelliZoom. Fill out your demographic profile completely and honestly.
- 3
Ace the practice test
When prompted to take a sample test, speak constantly. Do not stay silent for more than 5 seconds. Say things like, "I'm looking at the top navigation bar, I expect the 'Contact' button to be here..."
- 4
Maximise earnings
Keep the testing tabs open while you work. Tests are first-come, first-served. A standard test pays £8–£10 ($10 USD) for 20 minutes, paid via PayPal exactly 7 days after completion.
