Window & Gutter Cleaning
What it is
Cleaning the outside of customers' windows (and later gutters, fascias and conservatories) on a regular four or eight week round. Kit is cheap, customers pay the same day, and a street of regulars means you earn from one trip.

Step by step
- 1
Start with basic kit
Squeegee, scrubber, bucket, a microfibre cloth and a telescopic pole will do (£50–£100). Add a water-fed pole later once the round pays for it.
- 2
Get insured
Public liability cover is a must. Keep your work to what you can reach safely from the ground, and never go up ladders without training.
- 3
Price by property
A regular four-weekly clean of a terraced or semi usually runs £10–£18; a first clean or a bigger house can be £20–£40. Set a minimum charge so a single small job still pays for the trip.
- 4
Door knock one street at a time
Clean one house, then knock on the neighbours with a flyer saying "I am doing number 12 today, can I do yours for £15?" Working a whole street saves petrol and time.
- 5
Turn it into a round
Offer every four or eight weeks and keep a list with dates. 100 regulars at £15 every four weeks is real, steady money.
